Abstract
This study aims to look at the legality regarding the rules of journalists who carry out journalistic activities, namely searching, processing and broadcasting news on social media in terms of the Broadcasting Law, Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Regulations, and the Information and Electronic Transaction Law. The method used is normative legal research, which examines all legal rules related to legal issues. The results showed that as a journalist carrying out journalistic activities on social media must include the source of the information presented, because it was related to the validity of the information conveyed. Even though the ITE Law does not explain the guidelines for socialistic journalism, journalists have 2 specific rules, namely the KPI Regulation on Broadcasting Behavior Guidelines and on Broadcast Program Standards. The KPI regulation has covered hidden recording, information sources, and resource rights so that journalists must comply with these regulations both when doing journalistic activities in conventional media and on social media Kata Kunci: Jurnalistik; Video Viral; Media Sosial
